You may not know this, but I grew up in Boston – born and raised. Since moving to the midwest 2 years ago (and ditching my Boston accent long before that), I have jumped at every chance to visit my sweet sweet home.
So when Jackie and Luis asked me to photograph their wedding I was literally jumping for joy. Luis is a dear friend of mine from my working at Apple days and I was so privileged to photograph their proposal/engagement in the spring of 2017.
I also maybeee cried when Jackie sent me this text when they were on the hunt for a wedding photographer ” Luis and I have wanted you as our photographer from the very beginning. You captured our engagement perfectly and beautifully and we would be honored to have you be a part of our special day. Your kindness and talent are truly invaluable and my heart feels so full knowing you’ll be able to capture one of our most awesome days.”
Oof. Yeah. That hit me right in the feels. These two are a wonderful reminder of why I love what I do. AND it’s always so fun for me to photograph my friends’ weddings because you know I’ll be out there on the dance floor no matter what.
They celebrated their nuptials at Alden Castle in Brookline, MA (right near where I went to high school!). It was an intimate and elegant affair with close friends and family surrounding them with love. I love me a Boston wedding in the fall, it’s literally the perfect time of year. Alden Castle provided us with some moody vintage window light that we took full advantage of. Jackie and Luis have since become our most stylish couple of 2018 (that plumb suit?!!) and we think they’d do great as additions to the royal family.
My heart is way too full to share this wedding day with you – it truly was my favorite day.
